MEDICARD KABAYAN TRAVELLER'S PLAN

The MediCard Kabayan Traveller’s Plan gives Kabayan sponsors, and other travellers to the Philippines, access to outpatient, inpatient and emergency care services in either 15-days, one-month, three-month or six-month periods.


BENEFITS

OUT-PATIENT SERVICES

The following Out‑Patient Services will be provided to the MEMBER in any MediCard accredited hospitals/clinics:

  • Referral to specialists
  • Regular consultations and treatment (except prescribed medicines)
  • Eye, ear, nose and throat treatment
  • Treatment of minor injuries and surgery not requiring confinement
  • X‑ray and laboratory examinations prescribed by MediCard physician
  • Pre-existing conditions are not covered

HOSPITALIZATION CONFINEMENT BENEFIT

The following hospitalization (In‑Patient) services shall apply when MediCard physicians prescribe the hospitalization of MEMBER in any MediCard Accredited Hospital:

  • No deposit upon admission
  • Room & Board according to type of enrollment
  • Use of operating theatre and Recovery Room
  • Services of MediCard specialists like anesthesiologists, internists, surgeons, etc.
  • Services and medications for general/spinal anesthesia or other forms of anesthesia deemed necessary for a surgical procedure
  • Fresh whole blood transfusions and its processing/screening and intravenous fluids
  • X‑ray and laboratory examinations
  • Administered medicines
  • Dressings, plaster casts, sutures and other items directly related to the medical management of the patient
  • ICU confinements, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and Dialysis up to the maximum benefit limit
  • Human blood products (e.g. platelets, packed RBC) and its processing/screening except gamma globulin up to the maximum benefit limit
  • Modern therapeutic modalities and interventional surgical procedures such as, but not limited to laparoscopic procedures and lithotripsy/ESWL up to P20,000.00 each
  • CT Scan, MRI and ultrasound up to P20,000.00 each
  • New modalities and/or diagnostic and treatment procedures for conditions with established etiologies and its use is only an alternative to the conventional methods up to P20,000.00 each
  • Laboratory/ancillary services for conditions whose pathogenesis or subsequent clinical improvement is not yet fully established in Medical Science up to P20,000.00 each
  • The following complex diagnostic examinations up to P20,000.00 each:
  1. Angiography (e.g. coronary, cerebral, retinal, pulmonary, GI, etc.)
  2. Serum chemistry panels (e.g. Chem 23, Spec M, etc.)
  3. Pulmonary perfusion scan
  4. Tests involving use of Nuclear Technologies (e.g. Radionuclide Ventriculography/Thallium stress testing/ Radionuclide (Isotope) Scanning, Pyrophosphate Scintigraphy, etc.)
  5. Electromyography, Nerve Conduction Velocity Studies
  6. 24-Hour Holter Monitoring, 2-D Echo and Doppler
  7. Treadmill Stress Test
  8. Myelogram
  9. Diagnostic Endoscopy including one of video
  10. Diagnostic Arthroscopy
  11. Diagnostic Hysteroscopy
  12. Adrenocortical Function, Plasma/Urinary Cortisol, Plasma Aldosterone, etc.
  13. Mammogram and Sonomammogram
  14. Bone densitometry scan (Dexascan)
  15. Immunologic studies, Anti-nuclear antibody (ANA), C-Reactive Protein, Lupus cell exam
  16. Genetic studies
  • Professional fee of the assisting physician in surgical procedures
  • Assistance in administrative requirements through the liaison officers
  • All other items related to the management of the case
  • Pre-existing conditions are not covered

EMERGENCY CARE BENEFITS

  1. In cases of emergency where the MEMBER avails himself/herself of the services of MediCard Accredited Hospitals/Clinics, the following will be provided:
  • Doctor's services
  • Medicines used during treatment or for immediate relief
  • Oxygen and intravenous fluids
  • Dressings, plaster casts, and sutures
  • Laboratory, X‑ray and other diagnostic examinations directly related to the emergency management of the patient.
  • Pre-existing conditions are not covered
  1. EMERGENCY CARE IN NON‑MEDICARD ACCREDITED HOSPITALS
  • When a member is in immediate danger of losing a limb, eye or other parts of the body or is in severe pain that requires immediate relief and enters a non‑MediCard accredited hospital for treatment, MediCard agrees to reimburse eighty percent (80%) of the approved total hospital bills and of professional fees, based on MediCard relative values for accredited hospitals, up to the maximum benefit limit.
  • Pre-existing conditions are not covered

DENTAL CARE

Members may avail of the following dental care services from any MediCard free-standing clinic:

  • One-time oral prophylaxis
  • Unlimited dental consultations

  • What is MediCard Kabayan Traveller’s Plan?

The MediCard Kabayan Traveller’s Plan gives MediCard Kabayan sponsors, and other travellers in the Philippines, access to outpatient, inpatient, emergency care and dental care services in either 15 days, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months plans.

  • How does MediCard Kabayan Traveller’s plan work?

The sponsor goes online, chooses the plan, fills out the application form, and makes the payment. Once confirmed, MediCard Philippines will issue a virtual card which will serve as the sponsor’s membership card when availing of benefits.

  • Is MediCard Kabayan Traveller’s Plan integrated with Philhealth?

Hospitalization benefits due under the Philhealth program are assigned to and integrated with MediCard Kabayan Traveller’s Plan, such that any of the MediCard benefits due under the agreement shall be net of Philhealth’s benefits.

  • I’m not a Philhealth member? How does this affect my benefits?

Non-Philhealth members shall pay the Phihealth portion of the bill for confinements and out-patient surgical procedures.

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Samples of pre-existing conditions are but not limited to:

  • Hypertension
  • Goiter (Hypo/Hyperthyroidism)
  • Cataracts/Glaucoma
  • ENT conditions requiring surgery
  • Bronchial Asthma/Allergy/Urticaria
  • Tuberculosis
  • Cholecystitis/Cholelithiasis (gall bladder stones)
  • Hernias (except those that are congenital in nature)
  • Prostate disorders
  • Hemorrhoids and Anal Fistulae
  • Benign Tumors
  • Uterine Myoma, ovarian cyst, Endometriosis
  • Peripheral vascular diseases (e.g. Buergher's Disease)
  • Varicose Veins (except those that are cosmetic in nature)
  • Arthritis
  • Migraine headache
  • Gastritis/Duodenal or Gastric Ulcer
